چکیده
The present study describes the isolation, characterization and antibacterial activity of two strains deep purple pigmented bacterium Pseudoalteromonas luteoviolacea designated P42 (Accession no. MN647538) M64 MN647537), isolated from coral reef regions viz. Minicoy Lagoon in Lakshadweep Sea Palk Bay, off Olaikuda village Tamil Nadu, India. Ultrastructural examinations were done using scanning transmission electron microscopy. Presence violacein pigment was qualitatively analysed by chemical methods; UV-VIS spectrophotometry FTIR spectroscopy. strains, found to have against 13 out 36 marine bacterial species tested. Antibiogram analysis revealed sensitivity both all antibiotics tested, except for resistance Penicillin G Trimethoprim. This reports isolation P. first time Since shown clear evidence presence as well selected bacteria, can be suggested potent agents.

Draft Genome Sequence of Violacein-Producing Marine Bacterium Pseudoalteromonas sp. 520P1
Here, we report a draft 5.25-Mb genome sequence of Pseudoalteromonas sp. 520P1, a marine violacein-producing bacterium isolated from the Pacific coast of Japan. Genome annotation by BLAST searches revealed the presence of one acylhomoserine lactone (AHL) synthase (luxI) and five AHL receptor protein (luxR) gene homologs.

Strains JW1T and JW3, isolated from surface seawater of the Arabian Sea, were subjected to polyphasic taxonomic analysis. Cells of both strains were Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, and rod-shaped. They formed violet pigment and produced violacein. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis, strains JW1T and JW3 showed high 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity with Pseudoalteromonas byunsanensis...
متن کاملInduction of Larval Metamorphosis of the Coral Acropora millepora by Tetrabromopyrrole Isolated from a Pseudoalteromonas Bacterium
The induction of larval attachment and metamorphosis of benthic marine invertebrates is widely considered to rely on habitat specific cues. While microbial biofilms on marine hard substrates have received considerable attention as specific signals for a wide and phylogenetically diverse array of marine invertebrates, the presumed chemical settlement signals produced by the bacteria have to date...
متن کاملProduction of the Bioactive Compounds Violacein and Indolmycin Is Conditional in a maeA Mutant of Pseudoalteromonas luteoviolacea S4054 Lacking the Malic Enzyme
It has previously been reported that some strains of the marine bacterium Pseudoalteromonas luteoviolacea produce the purple bioactive pigment violacein as well as the antibiotic compound indolmycin, hitherto only found in Streptomyces. The purpose of the present study was to determine the relative role of each of these two compounds as antibacterial compounds in P. luteoviolacea S4054. Using T...
